You send an offer. The client opens it. And then what? Until now, you could see that someone visited the page, spent eight minutes there, and left. Maybe they clicked the CTA, maybe not. But what exactly were they doing during those eight minutes? Where did they pause? Which section did they scroll past without reading? What did they return to after a moment? No chart or counter can answer that question.

That’s why we added a new layer to Offer Analytics v2: session recording. You can now replay the client’s visit to the offer as if you were sitting next to them, looking over their shoulder.

What is session recording in mideo?

Session recording is a technology that captures user interactions with the offer in real time and then allows you to replay them as a video. It’s not a screencast or recording of the client’s computer screen. The system records events in the browser: scrolling, clicking, mouse hovers, transitions between sections, interactions with forms and CTA buttons.

Based on this, a visual session playback is created that looks exactly like the offer appeared to the client. You see cursor movements, scrolling speed, moments of pause. This is a completely different level of understanding behavior than dry metrics.

Why this changes B2B sales

In B2B sales, an offer is a document that lives its own life after being sent. It circulates within the client’s company, reaches different people, and is often read in parts and at varying speeds. No response from the client doesn’t necessarily mean lack of interest. Often it means something completely different: internal consultations, comparison with competitors, returning to key sections.

Session recording lets you see this. Literally. Instead of guessing why the client is silent, you replay their session and see that they returned to the price list three times, each time pausing on additional options, and finally opened the contact form but didn’t submit it. This is not lack of interest. It’s hesitation that requires one phone call to turn into a decision.

Timeline markers: events on the timeline

A video recording alone would be useful but hard to navigate. If the session lasts several minutes, you don’t want to watch it from start to finish. That’s why every recording in mideo has a timeline with event markers.

Markers are colorful dots on the player’s progress bar that indicate key moments of the session:

  • Entering a section — the client scrolled to a new part of the offer
  • Clicking a CTA — pressing an action button, e.g., “Order” or “Schedule a meeting”
  • Interacting with a form — filling fields, checking checkboxes
  • Downloading PDF — the client downloaded the offer for offline analysis
  • Returning to a section — going back to a previously viewed part

Thanks to markers, you can click directly on the moment that interests you. Want to see what the client was doing at the prices? Click the “Section: Budget” marker and immediately see that part. This saves time and lets you focus on what really matters.

Event list: chronological session flow

Besides the visual timeline, each recording has a collapsible event list. It’s a chronological record of all interactions with exact timestamps. The list shows the client’s actions in readable entries:

  • 0:00 — Offer opened
  • 0:12 — Moved to “About Us” section
  • 0:45 — Moved to “Scope of Work” section
  • 2:18 — Returned to “About Us” section
  • 3:02 — Moved to “Budget” section
  • 5:41 — Downloaded PDF
  • 6:15 — Returned to “Budget” section
  • 7:30 — Clicked CTA “Schedule a meeting”

Looking at this list, you immediately see a pattern: the client returns to “About Us” after reading the scope of work, which may suggest they are checking your competencies in the context of specific tasks. Then they analyze the budget twice and download the PDF, which combined with section mutations from Offer Analytics v2 gives a full picture of the decision-making process.

How session recording integrates with other analytics

Session recording doesn’t work in isolation. It’s another layer in mideo’s analytics system, which already includes:

  • Section mutations — automatic interpretation of behaviors (skipped, read, analyzed, blocking)
  • Decision Readiness Score — a single decision readiness indicator with trend
  • Team detection — identifying multiple decision-makers on the client side
  • Reading paths — visualization of navigation between sections
  • AI-powered insights — recommendations based on behavior patterns

Session recording is proof. When the system shows that the budget section is “blocking,” you can replay the recording and see exactly what the client was doing there. Were they scrolling quickly? Did they pause on each item? Did they return after a few minutes? These details improve the quality of follow-up because instead of guessing, you speak specifically.

Privacy and GDPR

Session recording sounds like something that might raise privacy concerns. That’s why from the start we designed this feature with GDPR compliance in mind:

  • Only interactions with the offer are recorded, not the rest of the client’s browser or computer
  • In public mode, data is anonymized — users are identified as segments, not individuals
  • Sensitive data entered in forms can be masked
  • Recordings are stored on servers compliant with European regulations

This approach allows you to fully use session recording capabilities without legal risk.

When session recording is especially useful

Not every offer requires watching recordings. But there are situations where this feature is priceless:

  • The client is silent after opening the offer — instead of sending another email in the dark, you check exactly what they did
  • High-value offer — when the stakes are high, every decision signal matters
  • Multiple decision-makers — you see different sessions from different people and compare their behaviors
  • Testing offer structure — you check if clients actually read the offer in the intended order
  • Sales team training — you show salespeople real client behaviors instead of theory

How to start using session recording

Session recording is part of Offer Analytics v2 and works automatically for all offers in mideo. You don’t need to configure or install anything. Just open the analytics panel of any offer and go to the recordings tab.

Each client session is saved as a separate recording with a full timeline and event list. You can play them in normal or fullscreen mode, skip to specific moments using markers, and analyze them in the context of other analytics data.

What’s next

Session recording is the next step in building a tool that truly helps sell. After revamping analytics and implementing automation, it’s a natural extension — because to automate actions well, you first need to precisely understand what’s happening on the client side.

In upcoming updates, we plan to combine session recordings with automatic actions. Imagine the system not only detects that the client got stuck on the budget but automatically sends a personalized follow-up explaining financing options because it saw in the recording that the client returned to the price table three times.

This is the future of B2B sales. And at mideo, we are building it step by step.
