B2B sales don’t end at the desk. Meetings with clients, conferences, lunch breaks — the most important things happen when you don’t have your laptop with CRM open. That’s why from today mideo works as a Progressive Web App (PWA) and supports native push notifications integrated with the automatic actions module.
What does it mean that mideo is now a PWA?
Progressive Web App is a technology that allows you to use a web application as if it were a native app on your phone or computer. In practice, this means:
- One-click installation — add mideo to your phone’s home screen or to the taskbar on desktop. No App Store, no Google Play, no waiting for updates
- Dedicated icon and splash screen — mideo looks and behaves like a native app, with its own icon and full-screen interface
- Fast launch — open mideo directly from the home screen, without typing the address in the browser
- Push notifications — receive alerts even when the app is closed
Push notifications: every event at your fingertips
These are not ordinary notifications. In mideo, every in-app notification automatically generates a push notification on all devices of organization members. This means that:
- When a client opens an offer — you get a push
- When someone fills out the contact form — you get a push
- When an offer changes status — you get a push
- When automation sends a follow-up — you get a push confirmation
Each push notification contains a deep link — clicking it takes you directly to the relevant offer, brief, or form. No searching, no clicking through menus.
Multi-device: enable push on every device
mideo allows you to enable push notifications independently on each device — phone, tablet, company laptop, and home computer. In Settings → Profile → Push Notifications you see a list of all devices with the option to enable or disable notifications for each separately.
Automation + PWA = instant reaction
The real power appears when you combine push notifications with the automatic actions module. Here are examples of scenarios that now work end-to-end:
Scenario 1: Client returns to the offer after a week
The system detects that a client who hasn’t responded for 7 days has just reopened the offer. Automation sends you a push notification: “Client ABC returned to the offer worth 150,000 PLN”. You click the notification on your phone, see the offer, and call immediately. The client is impressed by your responsiveness.
Scenario 2: Offer expires tomorrow
24 hours before the offer expires, automation sends an email reminder to the client and a push alert to you. You can decide: call, extend the offer, or let it expire.
Scenario 3: Lead from contact form
A potential client fills out the form on your public offer page. Automation creates a notification, and the push reaches the entire sales team within seconds. The first available salesperson reacts — the lead doesn’t wait hours for a response.
As we showed in the article about signals that an offer is stuck, response speed is one of the key success factors in B2B sales.
How to install mideo as a PWA?
Installation is simple and takes a few seconds:
On phone (Android / iOS)
- Open mideo in your browser
- An automatic prompt “Install the app” will appear
- Click Install
- mideo will appear on the home screen with a dedicated icon
- On first launch, enable push notifications
On computer (Chrome / Edge)
- Open mideo in Chrome or Edge browser
- Click the install icon in the address bar (or use the prompt)
- The app will be added to the taskbar / Launchpad
- Go to Settings → Profile → Push Notifications and enable notifications
Configuring push notifications in automations
To use push notifications in automations, just add the action “Send push notification” in the automation rules editor. Available dynamic variables are:
- Offer title — name of the offer related to the event
- Client — client company name
- Client email — contact person’s email address
- Net amount — offer value
- Offer status — current status
- Expiration date — offer validity deadline
Thanks to these variables, every notification is contextual and specific — you don’t get a generic “You have a new notification,” but “Client XYZ opened the offer ‘E-commerce Implementation’ worth 85,000 PLN”.
Security and privacy
Push notifications in mideo use the Web Push protocol with end-to-end encryption (VAPID). This means:
- Notification content is encrypted during transmission
- No third party has access to the data
- You can disable notifications for a specific device at any time
- Expired subscriptions are automatically cleaned up
PWA vs native app: why we chose PWA?
Instead of building separate apps for iOS and Android (which would mean months of delays and double maintenance costs), we chose PWA. For the user, the difference is minimal:
| Feature | PWA (mideo) | Native app |
|---|---|---|
| Installation from App Store | Not required | Required |
| Icon on home screen | ✓ | ✓ |
| Push notifications | ✓ | ✓ |
| Full-screen mode | ✓ | ✓ |
| Automatic updates | ✓ (instant) | Requires download |
| Disk space usage | Minimal | 50-200 MB |
| Works on all platforms | ✓ | Separate version per platform |
